2018 Urban NW Homes Coat Drive
November 5th - December 9th
As the temperatures start to drop, those who don’t have access to warm winter clothing are even more in need. In efforts to spread the warmth this holiday season, Urban NW has partnered with the Vancouver family shelter, Open House Ministries, to collect new or gently used winter coat donations for adults and children in need. The Urban NW coat drive runs from Nov. 5 - Dec. 9th, with 100% of donations going to homeless families on December 10th. Over 60% of Open House Ministries’ current residents are children, so a particular focus on children’s coats is deeply appreciated.

ABOUT OPEN HOUSE MINISTRIES:
In an ideal world, no family would be homeless, yet right here in Southwest Washington, that is not always the case. Every night in our community hundreds of children and adults are surviving the harsh realities of couch surfing from place to place, living in their car, in a tent, or under a bridge.
For over thirty years, Open House Ministries has provided shelter, intervention and Christ-based life-saving programs to homeless families with children. Within a caring, holistic program and community, families receive the support and training to restore their lives and become self-sufficient, contributing members of the community.
