Once everything has been cleared with your hardware, you’re good to go. First you need to find games that have been pre-patched. This means that the games are ready to burn and are guaranteed compatible with your Xbox. You can identify a pre-patched game by simply looking for a .dvd file partnered with an .iso file. The .dvd file is what initiates the burn process. If a .dvd file is not available you can simply make one by using programs for ISO creation. Keep the .dvd file and .iso file together in one folder without other additional files in it.
To begin burning games for xbox 360 open a dvd burning software which has customizable layer break setting suited for Xbox or any software that support Xbox codec. Load the .dvd file of the game you want to burn, but before you do open the .dvd file using notepad and see if layer break is set at 1913760. After the .dvd file has been loaded, look for a layer break option on your burning software. Usually it is located under the “Write” tab. By default the program will calculate the layer break values for you. Change it to “User defined” and key in 1913760.
You might be asking what the purpose of layer break is. Remember that you are using a dual layer disk on which you write a game. A dual layer disk has two layers. The layer break specifies how much data is to be allotted for each layer. The break usually helps minimize errors during game play.
Next step, select your dvd burner. If a “change for” option is available select “Drive (for DVD+R DL Media)” and set it at DVD-ROM. Make sure you select the slowest possible write speed. Check all settings and finalize it before you hit the burn button.
Burning games for xbox 360 can sometimes be a really painstaking process and might require bigger memory space to run smoothly. Make sure you close other opened programs to keep the burn process from crashing. Stick to this process and you’ll be able to save bucks while staying updated with the latest games on the Xbox 360.
